READY TO
BREAK THE BINARY?

Our team is here to support you in creating inclusive and empowering spaces! To "break the binary" means to challenge the 2-option culture we live in. There's more than black or white, hot or cold, and up or down...and more than being straight or gay, a man or woman, and masculine or feminine. Let's break the binary together!

ABOUT ADDISON

Founder & CEO of Break The Binary

Addison Rose Vincent (they/them) is a 29-year-old LGBTQ+ trainer and consultant living in Los Angeles. Born in Canada and raised in Michigan, Addison moved to California in 2010 to come out as queer, transgender, and nonbinary. Since graduating from Chapman University in 2015 with a BA in Peace Studies, Addison has served various nonprofit organizations across the state and country advocating for the LGBTQ+ community, including Victory Fund (Political Intern), Los Angeles LGBT Center (Event Volunteer), Strength United (LGBTQ+ Survivor Advocate), TransLatin@ Coalition (Manager of Programs), APAIT (Risk Education Counselor), and Nonbinary & Intersex Recognition Project (Interim Executive Director). Addison currently serves as a Board Member for LA Pride.

Although they have provided LGBTQ+ educational services to businesses and schools since 2011, Addison created Break The Binary in 2019 to formalize their work and further their reach. To date, they have facilitated over 300 workshops on LGBTQ+ inclusion and empowerment for schools, business, organizations, and government departments. Addison stands out as a trainer and consultant due to their unapologetic visibility, decade-long experience, and direct relationship with LGBTQ+ community members across the country and around the world. As a social media influencer, Addison is able to use their visibility as a gender-nonconforming person to help normalize LGBTQ+ existence and empower others to explore their own identities (follow @breakthebinary).

I have had the pleasure of working with Addison on a number of conferences over the past three years as both a workshop presenter and a panel facilitator.  Addison’s presentation style is both engaging and thoughtful, and the feedback I received from attendees has been entirely positive.  Specifically, Addison’s workshops have been considered a great tool for those working with the LGBTQIA2-S community.  Addison is a gifted presenter and I look forward to working with them in the future!
